Project Manager/Estimator:
Project Manager/Estimators are accountable for all aspects of several projects from bid to finish. They are also responsible for communicating with customers, suppliers, employees and other support staff to ensure project perfection.
Foreman:
Foremen are responsible for ensuring that all on-site aspects of a job are completed accurately and on time. He or she is responsible for keeping a project within budget and keeping employees focused on the tasks at hand.
Equipment Operator:
From backhoes, excavators, loaders and bobcats to Directional Boring rigs and Dredge rigs - there aren't many types of excavation equipment that don't get used in one of the several divisions of General Excavating. With experience and reliability, equipment operators can be given the opportunity to advance into positions of Foreman.
Mechanic:
Responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial vehicles and equipment by doing the following (not an exclusive list):
- determining malfunctions
- overhauling and maintaining engines
- minor body repairs
- building special attachments for vehicles and full servicing vehicles
Construction Laborer:
From no experience to years of experience, laborers are literally the backbone of the industry. From basic carpentry and concrete to digging ditches and laying pipe, the duties of a laborer will vary from project to project. For those that like to work hard and have something to show for it, this is the ideal position.
