FROM THE TRENCHES
Solving your problems from the ground up.

...the job done once and done right...
|
The unexpected… BEFORE the project, DURING the project or AFTER the project. It´s the things you didn´t plan for or conditions you didn´t know existed that hurt. General Excavating has become the leader in addressing the unexpected underground problems of owners, general contractors, mechanical contractors, engineers, and many others. What does this mean to you and your project?
• "BEFORE" construction General Excavating can provide budget numbers for utility work, review drawings for constructability issues, pot-hole for existing utilities, and provide assistance in developing a streamlined schedule. General Excavating´s project managers have the expertise to head-off many utility construction problems before a bucket full of dirt has ever been turned.
• "DURING" construction General Excavating provides the high quality work demanded by owners and contractors. You want the job done once and done right, so do we. Ten years of award winning work provide a testament to the skills of General Excavating´s employees. Coordination with other subcontractors, the necessary labor and equipment to speed up as the schedule demands, and an unwavering commitment to safety make General Excavating a leader among underground contractors.
• "AFTER" construction has began, or upon completion, General Excavating is often called to address the problems other utility contractors can´t handle. In the past General Excavating has replaced contractors who are already on site as conditions become increasingly difficult. Tight spaces, deep excavations, and the presence of a large number of existing utilities are situations that have called for General Excavating´s unique skills.
General Excavating encourages you to make your questions and problems our questions and problems. Whether it is the repair of a six-inch water line that has burst, boring in a sewer line, excavating contaminated dirt, or tapping a manhole at 30 foot in the middle of downtown Omaha, General Excavating has the solution to your underground problems.

A DECADE OF EXCELLENCE.
|
Ten years ago the Cornhusker Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors created an awards program to recognize outstanding construction projects. During this time 131 awards have been given to 56 different companies. General Excavating has been fortunate to work with a great group of owners, general contractors, and engineers over the past decade. With projects from Alliance to Omaha and many stops in between, we thank all those employees, subcontractors, and suppliers who have helped along the way.

YOU CAN BUILD IT
 |
You can build it! Read what Bill McClure of Lincoln had to say about the beautiful water feature he constructed in his backyard.
“The folks at GE Landscape Supply know their stuff about ponds and what it takes to create something that will make you proud. I brought them the dimensions of the hole I dug. They gave me a few tips on adding shelves, laying out the pond liner, and helped me select the correct amount of rocks and stone to finish the project. They suggested the right sized fall, pump, and even helped with the lighting. The best part, they delivered it all to my backyard.” – Bill McClure

PHOTO OF THE QUARTER

|
An opportunity for General Excavating's employees to show others the work they perform. Winners receive cash and have their photo displayed at General Excavating.
Dave Cline submitted this quarter´s winning photograph. A foreman in the utilities division, Dave completes a wide range of water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer projects for private and public owners.
General Excavating, working for the Lower Platte South NRD, completed a maintenance and rehabilitation project on a deteriorated stretch of Dead Man's Run Channel on the University of Nebraska´s East Campus. The photograph illustrates six-inch limestone aggregate being dumped into a section of the channel under Huntington Bridge. The rock was used to build up a void and was graded with a skid steer.
