Description of Work:
The goal of the project was the remediation of lead and cadmium impacted soil and the creation of a synthetic capping system. General Excavating removed a series of railroad tracks, completed the drainage system, prepared the surface and placed the geosynthetic capping system, backfilled, and reinstalled the tracks in less than 25 days to prevent bringing the facility production to a standstill. General Excavating also excavated over 3,000 yards of contaminated material, removed and replaced a 48" storm sewer pipe, and stabilized the soil by incorporating lime into the excavated areas.
